ALICE IN CHAINS To Headline 99.5 KISS FM 'Bone Bash'

ALICE IN CHAINS will headline 99.5 KISS FM "Bone Bash" in San Antonio, Texas on Thursday, October 22 at the AT&T Center. Also scheduled to appear are HALESTORM, EARSHOT, CHEVELLE and PUDDLE OF MUDD.

Tickets for the show go on sale this Saturday, August 22 at 10:00 a.m. at all Ticketmaster outlets, online at Ticketmaster.com or by phone at 800-745-3000.

ALICE IN CHAINS has released "Check My Brain" as the first official single from the band's upcoming album, "Black Gives Way To Blue". The song made its way to radio stations over the weekend and is also streaming online. Guitarist/singer Jerry Cantrell told The Pulse of Radio he wrote the song about moving from Seattle, where he grew up, to Los Angeles. "There's a certain aspect of sarcasm, I guess, being a guy from Seattle who lives in L.A., ex-drug addict who lives in the belly of the beast and doesn't partake, and being totally cool with that," he said. "It's like being the bad gambler and living in Vegas. It's right there. It's just the irony of that and a little bit of sarcasm. And it's not putting this place down at all. It's just kind of like, 'Wow, you know, check my brain, wow.'"

ALICE IN CHAINS recently tapped U2 and WHITE STRIPES video director Alex Courtes to shoot a clip for "Check My Brain".

"Black Gives Way To Blue" arrives in stores on September 29 and is the first all-new ALICE IN CHAINS album in 14 years.

The disc features the recording debut with the group of singer and guitarist William DuVall. Original frontman Layne Staley died in 2002.

The band revealed last week that Elton John makes a guest appearance on the CD, playing piano on the title track.

ALICE IN CHAINS will perform at the Epicenter festival on August 22 in Pomona, California, before launching a tour on September 4 in Washington D.C.
